Utz Quality Foods, Inc is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator who will support the Manager & Safety Office with establishing a culture of safe behaviors and a safe workplace for all Utz Employees. Under the direction of the Corporate Safety Manager the Coordinator assists with all facets of the Safety Management System, with a primary focus on administering program elements specific to the Sales Organization.
This position requires 1-2 years of relevant experience with a working knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local is essential. A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Sciences is preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
- Enter incident reports into Keller & maintain OSHA logs for the corporation
- Maintain statistical data relevant to various safety metrics via Excel workbooks & charts
- Prepare and/or assist with various safety related reports e.g. weekly staff mtg. injury summary, PPC summary, etc.
- Provide oversight and administration of vehicle safety programs e.g. Smith System on-line driving course, Risk Rating Scorecard, and Drive-Cam
- Manage Safety First program (1-800 call-ins)
- Administer driver license validations
- Conducts safety related training
- Conduct various inspections, audits and assessments (i.e. risk assessments & JSAs) to observe behaviours and conditions
- Drive the Safety Management System to supervision & route salesforce
- Facilitate and/or attend Safety Committee meetings and prepare or assist with agendas and meeting minutes
- Validate effectiveness of all applicable Level II Practices and Procedures upon completion of deployment and annually thereafter
- Assist with the identification of aspects, impacts and hazards associated with work processes/tasks
