Join our Team! We are looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customers focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Utility Person to work in Port Chester, NY. In this role, the candidate oversees and organizes warehouse operations and activities at an assigned Sales Distribution Center. Ensures product rotation, condition, inventory, security, and placement is efficiently maintained. Works closely and in cooperation with the Regional IO Coordinator to help support the goals and objectives for the Region. Responsible to cover open sales routes as directed by the Regional IO Coordinator.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Unloads trailers that arrive at the center. Checks and records trailer inventory for accuracy and accountability.
- Rotates warehouse inventory to ensure product freshness.
- Maintain accurate daily inventory balances. Must use a hand held computer to balance the daily inventory including daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads.
- Supportively reviews, accepts and accounts for return to stock, stale and damaged products.
- Properly maintain and track returned cardboard and stale and damaged product on trailers.
- Thoroughly maintains cleanliness and organization of warehouse including returned cardboard to ensure a safe and inviting warehouse environment that is conducive to a diverse workforce.
- Covers open sales routes as directed by the Regional IO Coordinator
- Takes responsibility for quality and food safety tasks for their position including adhering to all FDA and OSHA standards.
Non-Essential Functions
- Ensures Food Safety programs are followed.
- Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action.
- Properly maintains exit/entrance ways including during periods of inclement weather. Ensures condition of floors/walkways to help eliminate the potential for slips, trips, and falls.
- Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory records and rotation of product at the distribution center.
- Basic math and writing skills necessary to track, count, and record information.
- Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
- Requires an ability to communicate through speech, vision and hearing.
- Must be able and eligible to safely operate and maintain required equipment to fulfill warehousing responsibilities.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van in a safe and competent manner.
- Requires proper lifting techniques with an ability to lift, carry, and transport products.
- An active sales or solicitor’s license may be required (requirement varies by territory)

- Responsible to report unsafe equipment and practices to supervisor.
- Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA, and local warehousing code.
