Utz Quality Foods is the largest independent, privately held snack brand in United States.  We are looking to for a our dependable, career-minded individual to join our team as a Warehouse Utility Person to work out of our Sales Distribution Center located in Waldorf, MD. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate warehouse inventories, product distribution/rotation and inventory control.  This individual will also be responsible for covering open routes and vacations and assist the Route Sales Professionals. Warehouse Utility Person:

  • Unloads trailers that arrive at the center and checks trailer loads for accuracy.
  • Rotates warehouse inventory.
  • Responsible to maintain an accurate daily inventory balances.
  • Uses a hand held computer to balance the daily inventory (warehouse inventory, daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads).
  • Responsible to accept and check return to stock product and stale and damages products.
  • Places returned cardboard and stale and damaged products on trailers.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of warehouse including product rotation.
  • Covers open routes as directed by the Regional Sales Manager:
  • Responsible for placement and merchandising of authorized products in accounts that are to be served.
  • Maintain the required plan - a - gram.
  • Stocks sufficient quantities and varieties of product in all stores.
  • Properly rotates (back to front) all merchandise on every account call and removes from the shelf any outdated or non-sealable product.
  • Uses point of purchase material as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Requires organization and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory, records, and rotation of product at the distribution center.
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
  • Requires a valid drivers license and that the candidate is 19 years or older.
  • Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van in a safe and competent manner.
  • Demonstrate an ability to fill in and cover open routes as necessary.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry and transport products into accounts through the use of a hand truck.
